throw is a small site design & development service that i was given the lead on from meridian. we wanted to offer a service that focuses on a hand-thrown site feel. so much of the web is made by and for robots, while still so many humans want to make websites, brands, and businesses that are people-first.

devinci house is a contemporary art gallery in downtown greenville, sc. we wanted the feel of the site to bring together the young, organic, analog feel to the ethos behind the gallery while still making clear that devinci house means business and is up there with the best of the high end galleries. we felt inspired by windows98 css styles and icons, and felt it complimented the vhs video background video from a pop-up before the gallery had officially launched. we wanted to welcome the site visitor with y2k energy, while keeping internal pages clean and minimalist.

brutalist, simple, functional. we thought gifs of 3d scans of product would be a fun way to give life and quirk to the pages. silly but elegant was the goal here. marquees, bold colors... just went off of feel.
